NEW KIDS REUNION: BLOCK HEADS UNITE!

NEW KIDS REUNION: BLOCK HEADS UNITE!

This past weekend I had the opportunity attend maybe thee greatest pop concert of all time.  Three friends and myself were able to attend the sold out, hometown performance from the newly reunited Joey, Jordan, Jon, Danny and Donnie, aka New Kids on the Block!!!

I had no expectations going in, because I knew I would have fun no matter, but NKOTB really delivered.  The group was perfectly coordinated; singing was on point (even those falsetto notes from before their voices changed), choreography was tight and the guys looked HOT.

My friends and I arrived to the TD Bank North Garden to a sea of women in their finest New Kids gear; the amount of vintage and homemade t-shirts was astounding.  We of course were included in the t-shirt madness, each making and wearing shirts that included the world "girl" in the title (see my "Please Don't Go Girl" v-neck below).  You could sense the anticipation of the audience as the music playing on the Garden’s sound system revved us all up, eagerly waiting what would happen on stage.

And then it did happen.  The lights went out and the crowd started to scream.  On a big screen behind the stage a video presentation started..."15 years ago...they walked away...tonight...IT'S TIME" and the first flash of an image of Joey McIntyre from back in the day appeared and the crowd went nuts again.  The first chords of "Single" the newest song from their comeback album The Block began to play and it we knew it was happening.  The reunion that so many girls and a city had waited for so long was about to begin!

The Kids, or should I say men, played a high energy set for no less than 90 minutes.  Reunion concerts are always a big of a crapshoot but the group gave the crowd what they wanted.  After "Single" they immediately launched into "Right Stuff" and continued to play every single hit from "I'll Be Loving You Forever" to the mega popular "Step By Step".  They played new songs such as "Summertime" and "Dirty Mind" but didn't skimp out on the nostalgia; Joey rocked his smiley face jacket from the "Hangin' Tough" video and they incorporated some of their old dance moves (you know you remember the swinging legs with hands on the belt buckle!).

NKOTB put on a show and we showed them we were thankful-with non-stop screaming!

I won't lie; I'm totally a nerd for this band.  I jumped up and down, I screamed, I sang along at full volume and I absolutely swooned.

I could go on and on, but I'll wrap this up with a clip from Vh1, who were filming live from Sunday night's concert.  The boys from Beantown are back and in fine form and the giddy girl inside of me thanks you for a wicked awesome time!  NKOTB 4 EVA!

Reading that made me feel like i was (almost) there!!! More NKOTB posts please

Greatest concert of all time! woooooooo!
