When your America's most LOVED/HATED TV dad, it's very easy to lose grip on what is going out there in the real world.

So we were shocked, nay a little stunned today, when we spotted father-of-eight Jon Gosselin catching up on some reading at his local news stand.

Was it world news, the state of the financial markets or simply the weather forecast Jon was perusing?

Well, it was none of the above.

Jon was instead reading up on himself after he appeared in Times Square last night at a TV show publicity event.

Jon claims he hates being in the media spotlight every day, but we all know he can't get enough of his fame.
