Idol: The final kissoff

Idol: The final kissoff

American Idol ended its most controversial season ever (remember votefortheworst.com?) last night, and unsurprisingly Jordin Sparks won over runner-up Blake Lewis. Jordin, 17, also became the youngest Idol winner ever. She received over 60M of 74M votes cast. (That's more votes than George W. Bush got in the last election!) Jordin is a worthy winner, and we hope she manages to build on her Idol success, not go the way of Ruben, Taylor and other show winners who fizzled.

American Idol judge Paula Abdul broke her nose over the weekend, when she "tripped" while "trying to avoid stepping on her pet chihuahua" Tulip, according to TMZ.com. Paula, who looked tipsy during an appearance last year on Good Day LA, and has appeared a little 'tired and emotional' on several AI episodes in the past, is still good to go for the final in a few days' time we're happy to say. A spokesperson for FOX had no comment when contacted by TMZ.com

Sanjaya: "I'm A Survivor!"

We caught Sanjaya Malakar celebrating his latest American Idol performance yesterday. The talentless but entertaining contestant was whooping it up as he left the Idol studios in LA, so it looks like he is pretty confident he'll make it through to the next round. Watch Idol tonight to see Jennifer Lopez - and Sanjaya - in action.
