Tragic Heath Ledger would have been 29 today and we're sure it will be a heartbreaking time for his family and former girlfriend, Michelle Williams. Hollywood certainly lost a rising star when he died but that hasn't stopped the controversy after his uncle claimed the Brokeback Mountain hunk had fathered a secret love child who is now 11. True or not, we say it's time to let Heath finally rest in peace.

The DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) is leading an investigation into the causes of Heath Ledger's death, specifically the doctors who prescribed him the drugs that were in his system at the time of his accidental overdose.  Heath's autopsy results, released on Feb. 6, were subpoenaed by the DEA due to the fact that Heath had taken six different prescription drugs including, Oxycodone, Valium and Vicodin.  A doctor in Texas and a doctor in California will now be questioned in regards to giving Heath the prescription, to determine if there was any wrong doing.

After finally being laid to rest in Australia over the weekend, Heath Ledger's friends and family had an impromptu memorial for him by jumping into the ocean.  After attending the funeral in Perth, guests then attended the Indiana Tea House on Cottesloe Beach, a place that Heath loved.  As the sun was setting, many of the guests jumped into the ocean, including Michelle who was then surrounded by friends.  As the mourners stood on the beach hugging and soaking wet one of them commented "It's exactly what Heath would have wanted."  They left after the sun set and Michelle had a smile on her face.

Actor Heath Ledger died accidentally after abusing prescription drugs, the NYC medical examiner has ruled today. The Hollywood star's death was caused by acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam, and doxylamine. Kim Ledger released a statement on behalf on the Ledger family today in response to the results:

The Ledger family returned home to Perth, Australia to lay to rest their late son Heath.  Heath's funeral should take place later this week and most likely will be buried along side relatives in a family plot.  The second set of autopsy results should be in tomorrow, perhaps explaining the reasons why this tragic actor's life was cut short.

A host of Hollywood stars have turned out at a special memorial service in LA to remember the late Heath Ledger. Tom Cruise, Lindsay Lohan, Orlando Bloom, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi were among the celebrities who attended a special service held at Sony Studios in Culver City. A family funeral is expected to take place in Ledger's home city of Perth, Australia, later this week.

Michelle Williams has just released her first official statement since the death of her former boyfriend and father to her child Matilda, Heath Ledger.  "Please respect our need to grieve privately. My heart is broken. I am the mother of the most tender-hearted, high-spirited, beautiful little girl who is the spitting image of her father. All that I can cling to is his presence inside her that reveals itself every day.

Heath Ledger's father, Kim Ledger, paid a visit to his late son's apartment in SoHo this morning.  Kim left Los Angeles yesterday and arrived in NYC last night. No one is exactly sure as to why he is here, however there is speculation that he needs to tie up some loose ends for Heath (such as a will and/or trust fund for daughter Matilda) and meet with police who are investigating Heath's death.

Australian model Gemma Ward was seen leaving a private memorial service for her late friend Heath Ledger in Los Angeles over the weekend.  This was the first appearance by Gemma after Heath died of a supposed overdose last Tuesday afternoon.  The two were romantically linked and were seen together almost every day when Heath was back in Australia for Christmas.
