MARK WAHLBERG IS MAX PAYNE
Submitted by Mary Beth on Tue, 2008-10-14 09:16.Mark Wahlberg premiered his new movie Max Payne in Hollywood last night. Based on the popular video game, Mark was joined by his co-stars Chris O'Donnell, Mila Kunis, Ludacris, Beau Bridges and Nelly Furtado! The action film tells the story of protagonist Max Payne, a DEA agent who is out to solve murders and becomes teams up with Mona (Mila Kunis) an assassin who is out to avenge her family's death. While in collaboration the two become hunted down by the mob. Check out a trailer here.
In reality, Mark's life is pretty domestic these days. His long-time girlfriend Rhea just gave birth to their third child and and Mark has announced that they will finally tie the knot sometime next summer.
ASCAP HONORS NEW EDITION
Submitted by Mary Beth on Tue, 2008-06-24 16:20.The 21st Annual ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Awards were held last night in Beverly Hills and everyone from Ludacris to original boy band New Edition were honored for their contribution to Rhythm and Soul music. Ne-Yo, Akon and MC Lyte were on hand for the awards but none delighted me more than Bobby Brown and the boys. Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky and Mike (and Johnny Gill of course) were united on stage to accept the honors along with producer/svengali Maurice Starr (who also formed New Kids on the Block, he was kind of the Lou Perlman of the 80s).
We may lump New Edition in with many of the other bubble gum pop acts of the 80s, but let's not forget that the members went onto successful solo and producing careers. And of course what would the world be with out Bobby Brown? Whitney Houston's ex-husband may be one of my favorite entertainers of all time, both on stage and with his reality show Being Bobby Brown.
Let's take a look back shall we, from 1983, here's "Candy Girl".
